All 1965-70 Mustangs are very weak in the area between the shock tower and the firewall; therefore, Ford installed the familiar diagonal sheet metal braces. The thin stock braces leave much to be desired and should be replaced by the C5ZZ 16A052E "Export Brace". This is a one piece steel unit that was installed on cars exported to other countries. We feel this is an absolute MUST for any car. The shock towers may have to be spread apart with a Port-a Power, etc., because weak shock towers tend to lean inwards. Remember that the export brace is dimensionally correct, it's the car that has changed over the years. Note: 1965-66 cars will require the removal of the welded brackets on each shock tower.
